Savage Beauty at the V&A

17 June 2015

The Alexander McQueen retrospective Savage Beauty, has been a huge draw for event goers at the V&A this year. The show has been a hot ticket in the capital since it opened and Jackson Gilmour has produced a number of events for the exhibition.

In June Jackson Gilmour were commissioned to undertake a cocktail party for 500 staff at a City law firm in the V&A’s stunning courtyard garden. Guests enjoyed Mediterranean-style food beginning with canapés including carpaccio of beef with rocket and cream cheese and figs wrapped in ham. Next they could choose from stunning antipasti food stations offering hand carved Iberia ham and other charcuterie as well as additional small plates such as mozzarella salad with torn basil and aged balsamic and smoked chicken caesar salad.

Later in the evening waiting staff brought out usherette trays with mini hot dogs, hamburger and pies followed by a dessert display including a macaron tower and strawberries dipped in pink, white and milk chocolate. The champagne flowed freely all night with an additional cocktail bar serving mojitos, pink daiquiri, grey goose le fizz and Moscow mules.

Jackson Gilmour Marketing Director Anne Aitken said, “Guests really love the Savage Beauty exhibition and it has given events at the V&A this year a real edge. On this particular evening the beautiful warm weather, the food and the convivial atmosphere combined to make it a really magical event.”
